Notes: 2nd version of a Verdant IPA that gave a very golden yellow colour with lots of citrus, peach and apricot flavour.
The hops used are to bring even more stone fruit, peach and apricot flavour that is attained through this yeast strain.
There seems to be an imbalance with the hops v malt. I had a stuck mash and conversion was lower than predicted despite using the rice hulls.
The beer isn't bad but next time I think I will use a standard bittering hop and dry hop with more 'exotic' varieties.
Plenty of fruit and very easy drinking, a tad too bitter and again unbalanced. There were issues with bottling and some dead yeast found its way into all the bottles which affected the flavour. |

| Notes: Used a pack of London ale 3 and coastal haze in 4 liter starter. Tried sparging at the same time we recirculated for 15 minutes so the sparge water had time to rest and recirculate. It worked, the gravity was 1.060 throughout. Kept 2nd whirlpool hops in while we dropped to 70 degrees. Used oxygen with carb stone while knock out in fermenter. Started fermenting in 3 hours. Day One 4 ounces of Citra and 4 of galaxy in fermenter for dry hopping. Same on day 3. 1.010on day 4, tasted delicious, very fruity and smooth.crashed for 1 day and kegged day 5. Shitty packaging, i hope they are still good. Simcoe smells nice but Ekuanot doesn't have a whole lot of aroma.
Azacca smells awesome!
Efficiency came out low, so OG was low. 1.055 ish.
Taste was good, insanely hoppy. Not special though. A bit vegetal from the massive whirlpool hopping. The Kveik fermented hot at 37C gave a massive orange rind taste to the beer that was a bit too much. FG ended up 1.015.
