Notes

Based in the archetypal Steam Beer from Anchor Brewing in San Francisco, this California Common takes an uncommon step to the north, by way of Portland, pushing the hop bitterness to the edge of the style range and hopping up the flavor with a localing grown variety for a true Pacific Northwest crafted hybrid ale/lager.

To change it up(grade): swamp 1/2 the light LME for Briess Munich or ViennaPils LME; Or dry hop with more Nugget hops. Change up the crystal malts, dark or lighter--swap the midnight wheat with 1/4 to 1/2 lb. of Pale Chocolate malt to push the color and coffee/chocolate notes.
