A HUGE thanks to László Simon & Mad Scientist (Hungary) for sending me these amazing fresh Crosby hop samples of Cascade, Centennial & Amarillo, which are some of my favourite hops. After it was sent, it was quickly decided that I had to do a classic West Coast IPA for this unique opportunity, and the best way to express them in one brew was to do a split batch. The Centennial base provides a strong backbone of resin and pine, with a firm but round bitterness.
Batch#A - Cascade, to bring grapefruit and citrus notes to the beer.
Batch#B - Amarillo, leaning toward the more softer, orange and bright citrus notes of blood orange, orange peel, and pink grapefruit.
