My original batch was drinkable but not great. As far as the recipe goes, I added too much hops which gave it a wonderful aroma but made it more bitter than tasty. Other than that, it was not bad tasting but it did not have enough body. I spoke to Austin Edwards at STATS Brew Pub and he recommended using Malt extract as my base instead of the Rahr Standard 2-Row to achieve a better mouthfeel.
This was my first attempt at crafting my own recipe after trying four beer kit recipes - none of which had enough hops and flavor. As such, I intentionally went overboard with the hops to test the waters of how much is too much.
