Notes

May 18 - Beautiful Brew Day - 76'F, 29%, 42 dew-point, 5-6 mph wind, bright sun! Nicest Saturday in 2019 so far!

Mumford and Sons on Pandora!

I have 2 packets of 1318, one fresh today, the other packages on Mar. 18 - going to use both. A lot of oats in the batch!

341pm Mash In! 8 gallons (lots of oats), 160 degrees dropped to 154, at 411pm - Temp Check 150 - perfect! Added a tiny bit of heat at 420p got back to 151 - Goal is 152!

Pre-Boil Volume - 7 gals (after squeezing)

Skimmed proteins off the top, evaporation on my kettle - 1G/hr
5.75 in the fermenter - 1.52 OG - I think that is because of the extra .25 gallon of water - pitched both bags of yeast

Temp at close - 74 degrees - Now we wait!

UPDATE - 9am next day - yeast is very active! Off to a good start
