Notes
The use of pale malt for a golden alt style closer to a Kolsch but with more hop and AVB%, the goal was for a ale that highlighted the hops with a slight malt flavor.
Due to the low acid content of the hops I added more to the long boil and a small amount to the whirlpool for aroma.
Fermented 8 days with Wyeast 1007 at 66 degrees and cold crashed at 40 degrees for three days for clarifying. This created a almost lager effect that had my friend thinking it was a lager not a ale.
The ale has a very nice aroma and balanced bitterness that is very enjoyable.
