Notes

The Georgia’s Landing Pilsner was a real success. The ladies liked it and I was asked for more.’
Saphir hops have been recommended to me by the proprietor of NewEngland Brewery, Urella, NSW, Australia. So this is a nearly faithful repeat of Georgia’s Landing but slightly less bitter and focusing on Saphir hops for aroma.

Brewday: easy. I replaced the evaporated water during the boil and ended up with 30 litres of wort at OG: 1.035 which is ideal.

I use gelatine clearing at -1 degrees C after racking the beer away from the yeast to obtain absolute clarity in the final product.

My gelatine clearing process: 6 grams gelatine powder is dissolved in 200mL boiled water at 66 degrees C. The solution is dropped onto the surface of the beer at -1 degrees C. After 36 hours or longer the fermenter is slightly vibrated to encourage the precipitate to fall out of suspension.

Brewday: the wort seems a bit bland. Time will tell…
