7 gallons water used mashin at 162 temperature raised to 165 got the temp back to 158 fluctuated from 155 to 160 around middle of mash. Mashed for 1 hr, mashed out for 10 additional minutes at 170. Strained the bag for what additional liquid I could. Brought to a boil with around 6 and a half gallons remaining. Foam rose high right before boil, managed to turn the heat down and dissolve the foam, stirring until it disappeared. First hop addition after started the timer for 60 Mins, let boil until the 15 min mark second addition of hops. At 10 mins remaining I added a whirlflock tablet it dissolved. Stirring occasionally. Cooled to 76 degrees took specific gravity came to 1.402 or around 5.5 abv the brew has a very dark brown color orange hue. Used Safeale us 05. Fermentation in a 6.5 Fermentation pail. Fermentation noticed less then 12 hrs later.
