Mash Chemistry and Brewing Water Calculator |
Mash to be a constant 153° but some recipe directions call for an increase in temp towards 168 at the end. Those directions also call for a 90 minute boil with the first hop addition at t-60.
Used Nottingham yeast because S-04 is a little too estery and US-05 is too clean. Notty to be somewhere in between? Beforehand I'd pitch half a packet of S-04 and half of US-05 and it came out great the first time, but I wonder about consistency with this technique.
Did not aerate (since dry yeast and first pitch of it)
