Notes

We mashed a common wort with 20lbs of Pale Ale malt and 0.5lbs of Acidulated malt. We yielded 11 gallons post kettle at 1.052 OG. This common wort was hopped at 60minutes with Ekuanot for bitterness targeting 15 IBU.

We then split the resulting 11gallons of common wort into two fermenters, 5.5gallons each. One fermenter is destined to become a Pale Ale, and the other a Stout. The Stout fermenter received the additional 1.0lb of chocolate malt, steeped in 2Liters of warm water for 1 hour. Adding this to that split batch resulted in nice dark color wart, stout-like maybe 35-45 SRM.
