I brewed today!

Brewing an Oatmeal Session Porter and enjoying a cigar.

Brewed a Patersbier today - nice Belgian session ale. It's a yeast starter for a club brew - I have to deliver the yeast by next week.

bottled a new pale ale, lots of EKG and Perle, and lots of rose hips. came out kind of deep orangey pinkish, rose hips are very apparent.

well every thing before the rose hips looked fine, I'm guessing its just a green flowery taste added., good luck

Rose hips have a bit more flavor than that, kind of citrussy. They're edible and taste quite good when ripe. Related to apples.

and quoting me does what, every last 5 posts I make, your quoting me, I'm starting to wander

I broke a front tooth on a rose hip last fall. I don't care what they taste like anymore. Cost me $1500 bucks.

bag came with 3oz of rose hips, too much. So we crushed the rest up and made tea out of it.

efficiencies went way down today. the mash was particularly slimy and sticky, made it hard to squeeze out all the goodies. Hit my 9 quarts volume but only 12ºP...pitched WLP066 London Fog from the vault on it, hoping for the best.

Single hopped this beer with Galaxy. Did 1oz @ 15 and 5, and 2oz at whirlpool. Going to dry hop with another 2oz when fermentation kicks off, and then dry hop another 2oz 4 days from bottling.

Just brewed up a nice Amber yesterday, everything went well, hit 89% BH and gravity was within 2 points.....was first session using refractometer. (Bottled 35 liters of Wayne's ShitHouse I.Pee.Ale and Vlad the Pale Ale'r as well as 20 liters of wine). So much work......I need a beer break!

Well got that mango saison brewed up this evening I got an awesome extraction 1.040 from 3.7 kg of grain. But I did the granddaddy of brewing clutz ups I left the tap open whilst Transfering to fermentor (not a prob in carboys dammit) and by the time I realised I've got 6 Lt of lovely malty aromatic Eureka whirlpooled wort on the ground :eek:o_O!

So I mixed up some DME to the rescue to replace my lost wort and added 1lt of water to fermentor and pitched me whole starter to bring final volume to 20.5 LT at the same gravity as my recipe predicted target 1.043.

I'll throw in the mango once primary fermentation is calming down:).
So glad to get this brew day behind me I'll be triple checking that tap in future ha ha.

And Yooper says the editable brew steps are up and running for ya. Possibly could have avoided the oops.
I don't follow directions well even if they are printed out and in my way so not sure if they will help me.

Technically brewed it yesterday, but we brewed a nice Brown Ale. Looks like we fixed our efficiency issue. Target was for 1.056... blew right past that at a 1.065 :D . Now I hope my yeasties can chew it all up.

Geez, I was down 14 points yesterday. Give me your 9, and I’ll only be down 5!

Had to change sparging technique as we were hanging in the low 70s for efficiency. Now back into the mid/upper 70s! Yesterday's Brown Ale came in at 76% efficiency.

I'm brewing right now, ill try to upload pics later its in the 40s so got the hoodie on for brewing lol

6 hours including clean up and chilled to 60F, not bad
