    Bottling Day No-Spill Tips?

I've been brewing for a while and my bottling days get a little better each time, but I still wind up with a decent amount of beer on the floor/counter by the end. Besides using a bottling wand (the best invention ever), any other tips to keep spills and wasted beer to a minimum?

    Can't Edit Recipes

It's been a couple of months, but I want to edit and brew one of my recipes. When I click 'edit' the screen just flashes (almost seizure-inducing lol) but never fully loads. I have managed to click 'more' to open the style vs this recipe screen and that gets the entire page to load, but...

    First Wort Hops Temp?

I'm brewing a new BIAB recipe later this week and it calls for a first wort hops addition. My mash will be 150 F and I'll probably lose a few degrees (I usually only lose 2-4 degrees). Should I wait until the water heats up a bit or just throw 'em right in.

    Brewing this Today - Thoughts?

This recipe is boiling as we speak. It's been a while since I brewed (not enough bottles and health problems this summer), but I'm back at it today! Holiday Oatmeal Stout STATS: Original Gravity: 1.062 Final Gravity: 1.016 ABV (standard): 6.02% IBU (tinseth): 35.67 SRM (morey): 34.19...

Anyone Else Have Trouble Ignoring the "Matches Style" Message?

I want to make beer that fits into whatever category I'm going for, but I also want beer that tastes good. I'm having a real hard time ignoring the "matches style" notification and just going with what I want in my beer. Anyone else have this problem?

    Single Hop Pale Ale

After spending an hour trying to decide on which hops to use, I decided to just use one - Glacier. Please let me know if this looks ok. I'm aiming to brew this next week or so. I'm going for a clean and light (in color) pale ale at the high end of IBUs. BTW, the yeast is Safale-05 - because...

    Want my Beer Darker Please

I've just bottled my 3rd BIAB batch and a common thread with my last two is, the color isn't really what I wanted. My honey wheat was way too dark and this brew, a brown IPA was way too light - looks like a regular pale ale. My efficiency was only 64% which leads me to want to use more grain...

    2nd BIAB - Honey Wheat

For my 2nd BIAB, I'm doing a lighter beer. The yeast is Wyeast Bavarian Wheat 3056 because they were out of American Wheat.

Ugh - Great Brew Day but Big Problem

I brewed my first BIAB today and everything went very well. Until I broke the hydrometer. It slid out of the case and shattered on the floor when I was getting ready to get a pre-boil gravity. Needless to say I have no idea what the ABV will be for this one, but assuming it ferments properly...

    First BIAB Recipe

Here's what I plan on brewing for my first BIAB recipe. I'm brewing that extract 2,5 gallon recipe tomorrow. I haven't bought the ingredients yet for this one so please steer me in the right direction if necessary. I'm going for a fairly strong brown IPA without a monumental IBU, but still...

    My First Over-1-Gallon Recipe

Gonna give this one a try later this week. Any thoughts?

    Nailed it

Thank you Brewer's Friend! Bottled my first non-kit recipe today, made on BF. The results are below. I'm more than happy with the outcome. Assuming the bottles carb correctly over the next couple of weeks, I'm excited to drink this one - then brew a larger batch.

    Greetings from Atlanta

Hi there. I'm a Chicago guy living in Atlanta right now and while I'm not new to brewing, I am new to making my own recipes which has me really excited. I've got about a dozen or so brews under my belt, mostly extract and a couple all-grain, but all from kits. Now comes the fun part! Looking...
