– Recipe said Wyeast London ESB 1968.
– Did 30mins at 64ºC last 30 at 67ºC. Accident not intended.
– Did 1 hour boil not 90mins as ABV was high.
– Did 100g Chocolate, Crystal 150g as sold measures and I forgot to use less.
– Way too much Amber? Feels like 3% Amber 7% Crystal. 1% choc
Do again: 19% Amber was a way too large amount. Some porters do 10-15%. It was a nice strong Porter. Not a ESB. No real inclination to do again.
Try:
86% Golden Promise malt
5% Amber
8% Dark Crystal
1% choc.
90 min boil
5% sugar.
