Notes
Kiwi is our cat, we named the beer after him. There is no kiwi fruit in this recipe :)
Brewed 11/3/23 with minimal equipment; 5-gal clam bake pot as mash tun and boiler, propane burner, 5-gal bucket fermentor. BIAB.
Hit OG target of 1.049.
Fermented at 60degF in basement near a drafty door. 1 week in primary fermentor then straight into bottling bucket - no secondary, no filtration. After 5 days, SG = 1.017. After 7 days, SG = 1.012. Done!
Bottle condition 1 week room temp, then into refrigerator. Crisp.
Brewed again 12/2/23 with BrewZilla Gen4. 2oz Saaz hops 3.8AA for 30 min instead of Hallertau.
Updated 5/30/24 for 5-gallon batch size. 3oz Saaz hops 2.2AA for 60min. Scaled grain bill from 4- to 5-gal.
