Heated water to 179F
Added 1 gallon to mash tun to preheat
Added 9 gallons of 179F
After added strike water 175F
After adding grains 160F
Typical 15 degree difference from strike to mash with grains.
Ended 60 minute mash at 160F.
Mash tun 7/8 full so it maintained the temperature very well.

Used full 3-4 gallons of 170F water.

Tried using the pump but the plate chiller has too small openings on the inlet and outlet for the wort causing poor flow. |
