Cured and almost done with the Applewood smoking, pork belly is almost bacon mmmm bacon.
I took a slice off the end and fried it and all I can say is Yum too.
Leftover mince pie and pasty slice from our Aussie Day celebration yesterday along with a Rapier Wit.
Had the whole famdamily (sans 2 grands who were working) at out place for pies, pasty, and sausage rolls, all homemade, along with a few bottles of homemade apricot wine and beer. Everyone is recently recovered or tested, so we had no problem or worry about the bug. Topped off the meal with miniature éclairs, crème puffs and a few Zigga Zagga oi oi ois with classic Aussie rocknroll (Jimmy Barnes, Billy Thorpe, John Farnham, Cold Chisel, etc) playing for background noise(as if we needed that). Good time had by all, and it’s about time!
New news of another littlie on the way (2 grands and 1 great-grand due this year). Good time had by all. No pics, the food all disappeared too quickly thanks to so many ex-pat Aussies hangin’ for a taste of home, especially the sausage rolls. Wish we had known a little sooner about the commencement, we’d have cooked some of the homemade snags too. That’ll happen on Sunday before the missus’ youngest goes back to Virginia.
Guess AC/DC was right, it’s a long way to the shop if you want a sausage roll.
