I brewed today!

Once I get my kettle repaired I’m going to take a stab at plumbing a no hose swapping setup.
keep in mind there are 2 types of 3 way ball valves L and T, I have 1 L and the rest T, and its best to pay attention to your arrows, there are times I forget
 
‘26 Barleywine. This one a SMASH with Maris Otter and Pilgrim. WLP028 Scottish Ale licking its chops. :D

So it will be much lighter in color than your past Barley Wines, cool!
Indeed it will. Much lighter.

Funny you mention this because I stole the idea for this version from this Ron Pattinson historical recipe:

Look at the color of the beer in the picture. No way they got that color from Maris Otter only *unless* they made some crystal malt out of it first or they boiled it for hours and hours. I boiled mine for 90 minutes and also boiled down a quart of wort into a syrup, adding that back to the main boil. Still ended up relatively light in color. My guess is that CB&B just had a cool photo laying around and used it for the article. :D
