no, I just figured if it will pull up a 45lb bucket of water, then it wont collapse when I pull out 25+ lbs of wet grain on brew day

Looks good! I really like the articulated arm. The DIY hoist I built in the basement, between two floor joists, has no sideways movement.

I had a rail and shuttle system at the last place that I liked, similar to yours

Added a hoist to the new setup. That is a bucket with 5gal of water in it. Should be good enough to pull biab out

Issue with the hook idea is that you can't redirect the basket once lifted .

This arm or an overhead tract can relocate and lower it.

Yup, but my brewery is on wheels. It's a raise the bridge or lower the river kind of thing
