    Cannular pro shelf life

Does anyone have any experience with the shelf life of beer packaged with the Cannular Pro system? I have been cautioned (by a representative of a competing brand) not to expect more than a few weeks before the beer is no longer drinkable. I brew for a (very) small seasonal taproom in southern...

Inventory prices not appearing in recipe editor

Thank you for your reply. I seem to have gotten things going, but I still need to add the price to items when I add them to a recipe. I don't know what I've done wrong, but as it's not a feature I really rely on, I only do it for recipes I'm doing at work.

Inventory prices not appearing in recipe editor

The title says it all. I'm now involved in small-scale commercial brewing, and need to see the unit prices of my ingredients. I've created an inventory, but the costs do not appear in my recipes. I assume there's something I am not doing right, but I can't see it yet. Thanks Tom

iOS Recipes load and then disappear

I wish I had read this earlier! I made the mistake of removing the app and trying to reinstall it. (See this thread: https://www.brewersfriend.com/forum/threads/where-is-the-app.16087/) I can't find it in the store anymore, but it is still in my purchased list. I now have to open the app from my...

    Spike Nano Equipment Profile

I just walked in the door, so I haven’t had time to examine this, but here’s my reply from Stephanie at Spike. It is the Beersmith profile, which is at the very least, a good starting point to develop a Nano profile.

Agreed. I will reach out to them today.

    Spike Nano Equipment Profile

We are in the process of setting up a 1bbl Spike Nano brewhouse, and I'm wondering if anyone has calculated a Brewer's Friend equipment profile for this system yet. (I've looked, but it seems to be eluding me.) There's always fine-tuning involved for any individual setup, but it would save some...

    Spike Nano floor plan

Thank you all for your input. Our target brewhouse is 1-2bbl, and though we're not wholly tied to a particular system at this time, this particular question is about the Spike Nano setup, What we are trying to determine is the space requirements besides the brewing vessels and fermenters. We...

    Spike Nano floor plan

Not 100%. It IS a restaurant, so they are quite well equipped for gas. After a few months of waiting for our pair of Brewzillas to boil, I just want something that won't make time our enemy.

    Spike Nano floor plan

Thanks, The Nano will surely have a somewhat smaller footprint, but the working space will likely be comparable.

    Spike Nano floor plan

Hi folks! I am assisting a local restaurant in setting up a small craft brewery onsite at their facilities. After a few months of trial batches on a pair of Brewzilla 35s, we are looking at moving up to a Spike Nano system. (We considered a Brewha setup, but we don’t quite have the ceiling...

    Affect of fruit on gravity

Thanks so much for your reply! I pasteurized (and inoculated) my mango before adding it to the fermenter after four days. I’m unsure how long I should leave it in the beer. I’m fairly confident that I’ve avoided infection and/or oxidation so far, so I’d like to just let it be until I bottle...

    Affect of fruit on gravity

Thanks! That's an interesting discussion. If I had a refractometer, I'd do a measurement on the puree. I just discovered that the BF recipes app has an entry for mango under fermentables. When I designed the recipe, I just input the fruit as "other ingredients". (Actually, truth be known, I was...

    Affect of fruit on gravity

Greetings! I’ve got 5.5 gal wheat beer in the fermenter with an OG of 1.052. I plan on adding 2kg of mangoes after peak fermentation. I am trying to calculate how this will affect the gravity numbers so that I can have an accurate ABV at the end of fermentation. I am assuming that the OG as I...

    Brewzilla 2nd Auto Mode

That's an awesome mod! Was there rewiring required, or do the internals use the LAN type of connections you show here? Also, it looks like you've got a cam-lock down near the bottom of your kettle. What sort of mod is that? Cheers, Tom

    Brewzilla 2nd Auto Mode

To be sure, the 2nd auto mode makes more sense to me than the main mode. In mode 1, it seems necessary to adjust your time for the ramping up period. I still would not walk away from any brew system and assume that the kit will take care of the work for me. I'm still a little unclear about the...

    Brewzilla 2nd Auto Mode

I'm down at Point Pelee. Sometimes it just feels like the end of the earth! I help brew for a local restaurant that's trying to develop an on-site brewery. Cheers Tom

    Brewzilla 2nd Auto Mode

I got a reply from Ontario Brew Kegs, and they confirmed that a reset was in order. I thought I had done that yesterday, but apparently not. It seems that my final auto step was a ramp up to (past) boil temp, and the auto program doesn't like that. I'm currently running a small amount of water...
