    Used the wrong yeast

Thanks everyone. I completely agree with it will be beer . I should learn to enjoy the experimental factor. It’s tough spending g the time and not getting the result you wanted. this was my first brew (~30) using Lallamand. It started bubbling within 6 hours. Thanks again.

    Used the wrong yeast

Hi all I brewed a NEIPA just now and pitched the wrong yeast. Figure it won’t be too bad but want to know your thoughts. It’s the avg perfect recipe on this forum and I had Lallamand lalbrew American style yeast but accidentally used the Lallamand London ale yeast. I think it’s an equivalent...

    Experiment with Bru-1 & Idaho 7

Hi Everyone I've done a number of NEIPA's and want to try a batch without the typical Citra, Galaxy, Mosaic hop combo. I have read about a few new hops and Bru-1 and Idaho 7 caught my attention. I'm thinking of trying this recipe below. Please let me know your thoughts? Are the ratio's...

    Vanilla Stout

Thanks for all the ideas and comments. I think you are right in trying one thing at a time. It could be the extract. I may try adding none to my next batch. I can drink a 6% beer all night but it can’t be sweet. Perhaps I find an entirely different stout recipe. Lol

    Vanilla Stout

Thanks Craigerr. I should have mentioned i increased everything by 15% except the lactose and cocoa and boiled fo5 30 minutes before starting the the 60 min hop schedule. Got an O.G of 1.079 and an FG of 1.026. I soaked the vanilla in bourbon instead of vodka. Thanks again.

    Avg perfect NEIPA help

Interesting. My neighbour (who got me into this great hobby) said my dip tube needs to be cut. I did not filter when transferring and there is probably too much material at the bottom of the keg. I'm planning a keg to keg transfer under CO2 pressure and will make sure the tube is 1" off the...

    Avg perfect NEIPA help

Thanks man. after draining the first runnings I sparged with 185 degree water. The mash did not get above 170. I have a ton of hop matter in the beer, I'm thinking of doing a keg to keg transfer. I emailed the town for a water analysis from the spring (chalk lake springs in Ontario). I will...
