Quick Water Requirements
Water Liters
Heat water added to kettle (equipment estimates 18.6 L) 12.1
Mash volume with grains (equipment estimates 18.6 L) 13.1
Grain absorption losses (steeping) -1.5
Mash Lauter Tun losses -0.9
Volume increase from sugar/extract (early additions) 1.4
Pre boil volume (equipment estimates 18.5 L) 12
Boil off losses -5.7
Hops absorption losses (first wort, boil, aroma) -0.8
Post boil volume 12
Going into fermentor 12
WARNING: Kettle losses > 2% detected which throw off OG calculation for extract/partial mash recipes in batch target 'fermentor' mode. Solution: Reduce kettle losses, misc losses and hops absorption in equipment profile, OR set batch target to 'kettle' and do a full wort boil. See batch target FAQ.

Notes

Added yeast while wart was still a bit on the warm side, around 30C. Volumes a little uncertain for water. Seemed a little on the weak side, so put the hops and about 1 kilo of grain into the water to add to the fermenter to bring up the volume. So may end up with a slightly higher IBU than planned. Wart temperature steady at 80C for hopping though, which may bring down the IBU. As time consuming and annoying the sparge/mash process was with 6 Kg of grain (completely filled the 18L fermenter), I may consider substituting some of the grain for an extract next time around.
