WARNING: Kettle losses > 2% detected which throw off OG calculation for extract/partial mash recipes in batch target 'fermentor' mode. Solution: Reduce kettle losses, misc losses and hops absorption in equipment profile, OR set batch target to 'kettle' and do a full wort boil. See batch target FAQ.

Notes

This is a fantastic stout straight from the streets of Amsterdam; it's very pungently flavored like Goldings hops, has a sweet but not too sweet malty/chocolate taste with notes of old aged wood, and finishes tasting like coffee. It's not easy to make, and gets one drunk fairly quick, but the taste is well worth the apology phone calls the next day.

Few things:

Primary lasts seven days and requires the addition of the cacao, espresso and vanilla. Remove the sterling hops before adding Kent Goldings

Age this in a secondary fermentor for three to five weeks depending on whether you like the smokey wood chip flavor. Add the french roast to secondary a week before bottling.
