You know you did it wrong when...

Wow Dave that was some brewday! With my latest brew i made the mistake i made last time (two times a charm?). I overfilled the keg I was fermenting in and as expected the next morning i had krausen coming out of the spunding valve so i had to attach a blowoff tube . I released a good amount of wort/krausen (and maybe some yeast) and ended up leaving the tube connected for the duration of fermentation. In the end the beer tastes great (my friend thinks its one of my best ones) and the color is pretty spot on to a pint of Fullers ESB.

Happy accidents are the best kind. The Vienna I was doing when all this came apart is finishing up now, sitting around 1.012 at 55F under pressure.

You know....when filling a keg from a pressurized fermenter and half way thru foam is blowing out of the prv, you did not check the pressure in the fermenter. I had to fill some PET bottles to get the remainder out of the fermenter.

well I forgot my FWH on my Pilsner today so ended up doubling the magnum and pitched at 30 min to get the same IBU at least
hopefully its not awful
by time I realized it I guess I could have loaded up more Tetnanger but another .5 oz of Magnum did it instead
didn't want to change it to much

I transfered my Brother Smithwicks to the keg this morning. Wehe I opened the frementer to clean , this is what I saw...

The last thing the sponge should have seen was OXY Clean. I didn't see any sign of funky stuff soooo...
in a week or so I'll try it, if it dosen't taste like soap , I ll drink it anyway..

When your trying to add must to the fermenter holding a funnel on one hand and trying to pour with a bucket...spilled an indeterminate amount of must...now I could have just measures what the level in the fermenter was and how much water I still needed to add, did the math and....sometimes I have a tendency to "just send it"(took a swag at how much I spilled and dumped some honey into the remaining water, shook it up and dumped it in(may finish a bit sweet if I got too heavy)
