Got the grain for Miabock and a Porter. Probably going to brew the Miabock tomorrow.
I'd like to hear about your experience with that thing. Saw one at the LHBS and looked like something I should own, for those small batches. Not so happy when I think about siphons though.About to start doubling my outputAnd I'm trying a new brand of carbonation tabs

Mine is drilled for a spigot, which is one of the draws. It's surprisingly durable for what it is, but it does need special care compared to a more robust plastic fermenter. I use a pickup tube and bottle directly from the fermenter and I'm able to get all the beer except for a few ounces at the end. I also like the dry hop tube accessory thats available. If you get one, get the screw top opener tool. Seems superfluous but is actually very helpful. What else would you like to know?I'd like to hear about your experience with that thing. I have the 3 gallon one and really like it. The tool to Open is needed I agree there.I'd like to hear about your experience with that thing. Saw one at the LHBS and looked like something I should own, for those small batches. Not so happy when I think about siphons though.
Tight and hard to get a grip to turn. Opener is cheapOk, spigot. I see that in your photo @Sunfire96 and the one at the LHBS has a spot for one, just not drilled, which I can easily do.
Opener: huh? The lid looks easy to open and close, it even has those little ridges on it. Does it get gummed up and impossible to unscrew or something @Josh Hughes ?
If the opener is cheap enough I will get one, otherwise I will make onewith my handy-dandy CNC machine.
I definitely find it useful, you may not need one. You might be able to make one. I can send you specs and reference photos if need be.Ok, spigot. I see that in your photo @Sunfire96 and the one at the LHBS has a spot for one, just not drilled, which I can easily do.

I have a 3 gallon FerMonster with spigot, and I really like mine. Though the lid can be a little fussy to remove, I do not have the lid opener tool. It is nice to be able to watch the progress of fermentation. Herm’s Amber Ale currently occupies mine.I'd like to hear about your experience with that thing. That seems high. More Beer has the ported version for $26. It was on sale the other day for $21I think the price with a lid but without a spigot or something like $31 for a 3 gallon version. Use it a couple times and then store nuts and bolts in it.
Bloop. Bloop. Bloop. Bloop. .....While we're on the topic of fermonsters...I think I'm going to switch to solid lids without airlock. Hot take: the sound of airlocks drive me crazy![]()
Once you start using that fermentation fridge you won't hear the bloops anymore! While we're on the topic of fermonsters...I think I'm going to switch to solid lids without airlock. Hot take: the sound of airlocks drives me crazy![]()

The music's not loud enough...I wish! I can hear it in the fridge from the adjacent room
A ticking clock keeps me awake so I'd imagine a belching airlock would too. Sometimes if I'm running the stir plate and it's not centered right the tink tink of the stir bar will irritate me as well. While we're on the topic of fermonsters...I think I'm going to switch to solid lids without airlock.
