What are you doing with homebrew today?

Krausen is down less than 24 hours after pitching, it is still venting Co2 though

I like you erector set brewing cart!
Works great too. I built it 25 years ago after reading a book on how to build one. It's a simple gravity feed system with a pump to pump hot water to either the hot liquor tank or the mash tun, directed by a swiveling arm. I can roll it out of my brewhouse onto my covered patio for brewing year 'round. Dead simple and makes great beer.

Decided to finally get a small batch of mead going. I had some plums that were going soft, so I boiled them to get the pits out, and dumped the liquid and remaining fruit (in a bag) into 3 quarts of water with 2 lbs of wildflower honey. I added yeast nutrient and calcium chloride like I do with the primitive ciders. OG was 24.8 Plato (1.105 SG) and I used some lutra kveik slurry. The lutra has an alcohol tolerance up to 15%, so if this fully ferments to 0 it'll be just shy of 14%. My guess is it'll stall out somewhere before that, leaving some residual sweetness which is good. I've got some high quality local honey from a family members farm to backsweeten with if need be. I genuinely have no idea how this will turn out :D

Is it my imagination or does that look a bit dark for Hamms??

Now I am having the problem I see here quite often. It is day three for my Märzen and no action. WPL820 yeast at 55F . I even raised it a couple degrees and nothing.
I have some 05 and BRY97 maybe an old 04, have to look . It needs something...

About 40 miles away but it might be worth it.

Looking through my bag of misc yeasts I found a couple packs of 34/70. Good thing there were a couple of them because I dropped the first one and it went all over the floor. So it got about one and a half packages. (Even had good dates).

The beer gods smiled upon you!

Thursday night, I kegged up my Marzen (and first proper lager), installed a new faucet into my keezer, and a new C02 line on my regulator so I can carbonate and serve two beers now. Looking forward to having a Marzen and a WCIPA on tap and read to drink in early October.
