What are you doing with homebrew today?

Agreed :) I did some math while brewing, and assuming $14/6 pack of craft beer, I saved myself $150 today brewing it myself. Plus I like drinking it more than what I can buy at the store.

Even just 2 brews a month saves me quite a bit of money for the whole year, and only costs 6-7 hours of my time :D and at this point the equipment has been paid off and then some
I have often told my wife: "I have to brew beer tomorrow to save us money!"

I'm just thinking (sorting logistics)...
Would it be a problem to leave a batch of beer for 3-4 weeks in the fermenter?
9-10 litre batch in a 12 litre Speidel with blow off tube (the fermenter plus airlock doesnt fit in the fridge)
On M47 trub.
Should be fine, isn't it?

Kegged Tuesdays brew, half in a mini keg, the other half into a full-sized corny to go into my keg fridge. I tip the fermenter near the end of transfer to get evey last drop

Definitely fine, as long as the temperature is practical.

I'm not sure about that, you couldn't transfer it off the yeast to one of your oxebar kegs?

I’ve got plenty of 2.5 gallon kegs available. I’ll harvest the yeast which will siphon off some of the wort/beer, I figure I’ll have 7 gallons of beer, ish... and all of it is going into 2.5 gallon kegs because I have all my 5 gallon kegs in use.

3-4 months might be a problem but not 3-4 weeks. As long as the beer temp is in the yeast's range and the jar that the blow off tube goes into does not run dry, it will be just fine.

my other half is in CO for the week so today I'm brewing my Schneider Weiss tomorrow a Julius clone
don't have to clean up until Thursday so maybe a third Wednesday
Tuesday going to the dentist :(

It should be fine as long as you keep it in the yeast’s temperature range. 4 weeks is no problem. 12 weeks, problem.

Since temp fluctuations might be a concern, is there a way you can close up the fermenter once you know fermentation is complete? I'm sure sealing it up with a gravity point or two to go would give you some nice positive pressure and then you can let it ride without worrying about blowoff suckback or oxygen intake. Those speidels have some flexibility to them, so I don't think a couple of PSI would be an issue

All due respect @Sunfire96 I would advise against this, even one PSI could be an issue. There are a lot of square inches inside that fermenter, maybe 100? Maybe more. That adds up to a lot of force

I forgot to add that it is under temperature control this time..., so no issue there.

The planning is to add new wort to the trub, (which I always do, so no isue there), but then 5 days later I'll be away. I normally keg after about 2 weeks.
So this would be far too early.

I have to carbonate outside the fridge for a couple of reasons, so I would need to get it transferred after 3 days...

And now having a brain wave
I coud indeed transfer and then put a spunding valve on it.
Should I then add some extra sugar for carbonation? And keep it at fermentation temperature? That would be 3 weeks or so

Some people pressure transfer out of glass carboys at 2-3 psi, I'm sure a plastic fermenter at 1 psi would be fine :D

I would put the spuunding valve in and let carbonate while your away. Not sure why people think it's a problem. As long as you keep any oxygen out. Heck even an airlock is going to do that. 3 or 4 weeks is nothing people do it all the time. Maybe I'm missing something

I thought it would be fine...
Maybe I just go with my gut feeling ;)

Made a hazy IPA this weekend!: https://beerandbrewing.com/recipe-wren-house-spellbinder-ipa/
The only variation from the recipe is I had to use K-97 instead of S-04 because I guess I mixed up the package colours when I was checking my inventory when deciding what to make (god forbid I read the actual package haha). Should be good anyway.
