Looks good! You're spending some time perfecting a particular, relatively simple style. That's pretty much the opposite of what most new brewers try to do. It's usually a whole mess of crazy combinations and/or huge, high-ABV beers.
By the time you want to branch out, you'll have a good understanding of how things work and your success rate will be much higher than the "mad scientists". :)
 
I end up doing high ABV beers because I am terrible at estimating my efficiency, so nailing down like this is a great idea.

i seem to remember a hawkbox from another forum. is it you? in any case, thanks! i am trying to zero in on a great english ale. baby steps
 
It's certainly possible, I tend to use that name most places.
