Having a great brew day!
Finally got my cooler mash tun tuned in to compensate for heat loss. I pumped the strike water in through the drain valve, believe that is called "underletting", real smooth day! A wee pinch over on gravity, right on with volume. Economical too with only a couple ounces of hops ;)
 
All up to the Notty now.
Will put some pressure on it once it gets going.
If you look closely the 2L growler that is the blow off receptacle is from Charlotteville, which is where this recipe is from!

Didn't occur to me until I was racking that there won't be an O2 for the yeast, hope that isn't going to screw me. After fermenting the previous batch under pressure and pushing it out to kegs, the fermenter would have been full of co2. I guess we will see

You can still add some, even if the yeast has started fizzing.

I think the O2 is most beneficial during the yeast grown phase. Since you're using the full yeast cake from a previous batch, I don't think lack of oxygenation will be much, if any, negative impact.
 
Virginia is fighting a historical drought year, but with the storms this week our voluntary water restrictions have lifted, so I brewed! Here it is chilling down using that sweet sweet tap water

I'm attempting a partial mash version of my golden ale recipe. Fingers crossed
