Dry Yeast Info.

I wouldn't doubt that there are subtle differences when compared side-by side.
Just curious... have you tried Wyeast 2124 the other liquid yeast of the "same" strain, and compared those two. I wonder whether there's much difference between the two liquid versions of the same yeast.
I wonder how long and how many generations of processing it takes for yeasts from the same source to diverge into substantially different lines or sub-strains and whether the processing of dry yeasts causes divergence to happen faster.
Maybe we'd be better off, as you say, to think of dry yeasts as distinct strains with similar characteristics rather than a possibly inferior version of a liquid yeast.
