A dash8 fixed a neck issue for a day, then whole body felt like crap for a weekT'wss a long day of travel, 5 hours from Toronto to Vancouver, then close to 2.5 hours to Terrace BC. I have been scared when flying one other time back in the late 90's flying into Winnepeg Manitoba for a wedding. The turbulence when landing was crazy, up, down, left, right, thought we were all going to die. We obviously survived...
Flying into Terrace BC just after sunset the turbulence didn't seem too bad, but this was a Dehaveland Dash8 (small turbo prop plane). As we were getting close to touching down there was a sudden down, a bang from the wheels touching down, then the sudden force of the engines being powered up. We were going around... took a good 20 minutes to go around, a good 20 minutes to consider whether this was it or not... similar turbulence on the second approach but they got us on the ground safely.
Anyway, this is where I will be for the next couple of weeks, Kitimat BC! The dark line in the top left is the Alaska border.

We did a number of hikes when we were here last time, here in a supporting grand parent role this time! Adam did get put for a bit in the woods yesterday and harvested these Chicken of the Forest fungi! Apparently when you cook them up they taste like chicken...Kitimat has one of the camps the company I work for runs, beautiful area. There are some great hikes near the water you should do a drive and just explore.
Chicken of the cave, Chicken of the forest, etc...
