Yeah, small town living in South Central PA....best one ever I have had the pleasure to shop was in Hatteras North Carolina...The Burrus...went in late one Tuesday night for a gallon of milk while on vacation on the Outer Banks....they already had closed out the registers and Mr. Burrus told us to come back tomorrow and pay,,,he didn't want to screw up the daily count!

Had one in Kentucky when I was growing up. There's still one nearby but "ours" is a different grocery store now.

This is the real deal fresh Aussie Grown Saltana bread OMG Baby!

500g loaf plain flour
10g cinnamon
200g fresh soaked over night sultanas use the stained liquid for bread.
375g liquid.
10g salt.
100g levan .
Mix dough stretch and fold untill gluten is well developed.
Stretch and fold soaked sultanas Into bread mix for a fold or two at end.

Beautiful loaf Ben!
 
First project of the day done. 50/50 whole wheat loaf made with a little honey. My son helped combine the ingredients and knead it.
Next up, some homemade mushroom ravioli in a cream sauce...guess I'll have to start another thread for non-bread/pizza/grilled/smoked foods

SBG Biscuits!

Turned the dried pale 2 row from a batch or 4 ago into flour in Wifey's Vita-Mix ....makes a hearty addition to a couple of eggs!

If you're interested

1 cup white flour and 1 cup of SBG flour
1 heaping tablespoon of Baking Powder
1 teaspoon of salt
1 stick of butter
milk to texture to make a dough ball

450 degree oven for about 15 minutes
