Next up is a hard cider brewery and they are fantastic. I'm having the rasbenero. Yup, raspberry habenero cider. Delicious and the color is fantastic.

At Prost. They do fantastic classics. I went with the pilsner. Excellent! Their bottled line is great, but the taproom... No comparison imo.

I knew Bill when he was head brewer at the Dry Dock, then Prost. He loves his German beer! He's at Bierstadt Lagerhaus now, having set the bar at the previous two breweries.

Irish ale abomination. This is supposed to be 20 SRM. Looks more like mid 30’s. I don’t know what went wrong. Maybe LHBS didn’t get my order correct. Regardless, it actually tastes very good, but I probably won’t be able to replicate.View attachment 12083

At the brewery you can pickup their barrel aged beers a couple of years old. Until last year they gave free samples of the regular and seasonals, I think 3-4oz pours every afternoon but not anymore.
I must admit that I like Janets Brown better than Moose Drewel. Not knocking the Drewel.

Next road trip out west (whenever that will be) there will definitely be some brewery stops worked into the official schedule!

I think the brewer is always his/her harshest critic. I took my Irish Red when I visited some friends last year. When describing the beer they cut me off when I started to list where I felt it missed the mark. They said they loved the beer as it is and didn't need to hear why it wasn't perfect.

Muskoka Brewery's Detour India Session Ale, nice and refreshing at 4.3%. It is a beautiful fall evening here in Southwestern Ontario, 72F and the sun is just setting.

Had a half bottles worth of festbier when I bottled. Today they go in the fridge. Here is what it like. Nice carbed sample. Seems balanced well
