1st Runnings = 4 gallons collected/1 gallon grain absorption.
Batch Sparge with 15qts at 170 degrees, Mash In temp was 157. Mash in for 10 minutes. Mash out temp was 155.
2nd Runnings = 2.75 gallons collected/.75 gallon grain absorption. |

Using 2 Safale US-05 Yeast Mason jars.
1 taken from SMaSH (MO/Cascade) from that was harvested on 30 Sept (2nd Gen).
1 taken from Cream Ale that was harvested on 5 Oct (2nd Gen).
Poured out all top layer liquid (beer) except just enough to mix up with yeast on bottom of jar to pitch into carboy.
Estimated about 3-4 oz of slurry total was pitched. |
