I was cheering for the Nicks, probably because OG was once a Raptor... I wasn't cheering so hard for them that I stayed up to watch the whole game last night, but I am glad that they won!

The only ice in Vegas is used for sodas.
I was hoping for any team from Canada, where modern ice hockey was invented, to win. Alas.

Historic game for Canada in the World Cup!

I like the Brewers, don't follow them as closely as when I was a kid, really enjoy going to the ballpark, however, living on the other side of the state it needs to be a planned trip. Made it to my first game in high school in 1990, I've been to a dozen or so games since then(most recently last night with my oldest son)...someday I'll be there when they win one, every game I've attended has been a loss(and they've had REALLY good teams the last 3 times I've gone).

We had a long day on the train today, missed the game but got word of the win from friends. Going through the mountains without service for most of the time.
I often say to myself, and others, keep your hopes high, and your expectations low in cases like this. I had very, very low expectations for this match... I didn't dare to hope as the lads had already exceeded all expectations in this tournament. Proud of the team, and feeling proud to be a Canadian a little more than usual today. I hope I have appropriately understated my pride as we typically don't like to be boastful as a people...
One of my closest friends is of Dutch descent but was born Canadian,and is a proud Canadian as well. Boy if we play the Netherlands in the round of 16, that will be a difficult ult day for him!
