So....
Hawkbox IPA v2 racked onto the Notty yeast cake from the English Pale.
One nice thing is that the Notty goes about it's work surprisingly quick.
It has finished sweeter than you would like for a Westie, but it is still a really nice beer.

From your description maybe East Coast IPA other than the color? I consider the ECIPA more of a British IPA
I haven't brewed one in awhile but when IDid it was usually US-04 or repitched ESB yeast
Of course I'm not talking about NEIPA that's a different animal

Sweet isn't really the greatest descriptor, more of a toffee kind of finish to it, could use a little more bitterness to back that up. But reviews from my beer snob buddies are all thumbs up.

Harpoon comes to mind as a good example
Basically an English IPA using American hops
So English IPA begot East Coast IPA begot West Coast begot NEIPA etc.

Harpoon was the first I thought of also. Sam Adams Rebel IPA from 10ish years ago too

Yes indeed. But mine isn’t as good as theirs: they’ve made that recipe a few more times than I have.
It does lose a little something in the can.

back in the day I tried using the yeast from a couple bottles of Erdinger built up
