Very similar, I skipped the dry hop on mine. All in all, color and flavor are close. Great Dane is always solid, was my favorite yesterday, San to Don was a close second.

Pilsner is clearing more it looks

Gotta brew this a few more times I think.

I want to try S189 now
I see my first run at Christmas was S189 not 34/70 now I'm wondering if it wasn't that or the extra ABV that brought that malt presence this is malty but restrained I'm guessing that's pilsner lol

Next run is chilling the wort down the traditional way seeing if that makes any difference compared with no chill.

Back to Sazz I used tradition - haulertau tradition or was it mittlefuruh oh no here we go around the bend

Yes. The keg hopped had a taste like the bag of hops smell if that makes sense. Not tons but added a little something. I like them both. Mixed they are super.

Howd you Munich compare?

My Helles is drier. The real deal had a “sweetness” mine doesn’t have. Body was better on the Munich one. Hops also fruitier.

The Belhaven was sweeter as well and a hint of peat to my palate. I know per style they are not supposed to have that…but it does

This one is awesome as well. Still some of the same sweetness of the Helles compared to mine. This one is richer than my Dunkel. My Dunkel is closer to the real deal than my Helles is. But I’m reminded I am ass lol

After this there are 2 bottles left. I could call the Last Northern Lights.Faint reflections of a Stout. But a clarity in the background. I certainly have to repeat this batch. What do you think?
