When I worked nights I used aluminum foil in the windows, it also helped keep the aliens away.

I went through that when I was in England this month. It was light at 4:30. I just tried to close my eyes for an hour and get up around 5:30. Craft beer before bed helps too LOL.

My daughter says "old guys complain about everything" so, you can complain...however should you complain is another matter

! Actually, to be helpful here, I keep a small towel next to my pillow that I drape across my eyes when it the sun comes up too early. Not perfect but it works.

Ugh. I’m in NE Pennsylvania and today there is a Code Red Air Quality Alert (whatever that means, but it sounds bad) from the wildfires in Canada. Very hazy, almost eerie here today…with obvious smoke in the air. I can’t even imagine what it must be like there.

Good Lord,
We had the nasty stuff in 1998, and it wasn't fun. I was flipping channels tonight, and they were mentioning the wildfires up there on BBC. I hope things get back to normal before too long.

It is a long way from us, but the smoke here is just nuts. Even in the northern US it is surreal, NY State, and even NY City are being affected by the it. It was normal and clear here at 6:30AM on my to work, at 9AM the sky had a pre-dusk feel, it had a bit of an orange, or maybe a more sepia tone to it. Ours is just the fallout, parts of Northern Ontario are out of control. Some indigenous communities have been completely consumed by fire. Very hard to comprehend.
We just came back from Alberta. Last year there were dozens of wild fires that were classed as "out of control". This year there maybe a dozen fires and all but one, or maybe two were under control, or being held. Pray for rain

Can't imagine either, I am near Toronto, the fires are 2 days drive from where I am. Compare the driving distance to driving from Atlanta to Toronto. You could do it in a day (14 hours), but I probably wouldn't

I have also heard that many US fire services are pitching in to help battle this. We are such great neighbors, Canadian fire services were doing everything they could for the LA fires as well

Milwaukee looks like Toronto too. Air quality is well into the hazardous range. The smoke is coming from both Minnesota and Canada. The acrid smoke smell is stronger than I can ever remember it being. The good(?) news for us is that the next heat wave will push the smoke away. Almost a literal pick your poison event. But I'd rather be here than where Craig's friends live! That picture of the red sky is scary!
