Propane price

I saw between 1.53/l and 1.73/l driving back from my moms farm yesterday.
 
I top off everytime I pass a gas station
I have vivid memories of the oil embargos of 73 and 79
it will be harder noadays with the anti siphoning devices on cars
My neighbor and I shared rides to work The big duely sat in the driveway as a tanker
I believe it held about 40 gallons from that we would siphon into a 6 cyl AMC that we drove to work
luckily at the time we were building a house for a guy who owned a gas station and he would fill our cans for a premium which we got our boss to pay for
fun times they were not especially the first one by time of the 79 one I bought my wife an Opel Cadet
worse thing about that car is if she gave me a ride I needed to get out and push on the uphill sections
 
I had it lucky then too. I drove a company work truck. The gas station down the road set a pump row aside for commercial work vehicle only. I used that for my personal vehicle through the mess.

Craig, considering, it isn't a whole lot cheaper here. I think I paid $4.27 US on Saturday. I have not seen it much cheaper than that locally, at least for the credit card price. A few pennies here and there, but not much cheaper.
 
I just paid 3.329/gal for Regular (87) at Sam’s club today. Still reasonable.
 
yeah still about $3.90 at the one gas station in town not much competition probably cheaper in the bigger towns
not sure what it is at BJs etc Im not a member anymore to far away
I have a grocery card that I get pts that can use for gas but I use the pts on groceries
 
Funny observation about fuel prices here in south central TX. You'd think we would have low gas prices and on average for the US, we do. But a lot of folks around me were noticing before the Iran war that the volatility was off the hook. One day we'd see $2.30 / gallon, a day later $2.80 / gallon. It's been like that for at least a year with it hovering mostly $2.50 - $2.90. The next town over has fuel at the HEB that's routinely cheaper than the HEB in my town most of the time. And there's a few QT that are usually a bunch cheaper off 1604 ; that's San Antonio's outer OUTER beltway. It's been a head scratching experience, even with all the "oil folks" around here.

Now, everything is at the same price, $3.89 / gallon. Ok, there's one QT in S/A that's 3.85 but who is sweating $0.04 ? Especially when both my main 4 wheelers are clocking in at 17mpg or under.

I'd happily trade the certainty of just under $4 / gallon regular for the volatility and lower prices. Also, every one of my vehicles is 91+ octane, my wife's can run 87 but I'd rather have the extra power.
 
well my gas station is $3.95 yesterday but everyone else has breached the $4 mark
the betting markets are say $5 is coming
not surprised Russia and Iran are getting a windfall because we lifted their sanctions
in the states its the oil companies that are cashing in and why the price is expensive in Texas
US companies sell to the highest bidder and that ain't us

I need propane today so Ill look at that
propane should be stable since we don't export that and its a byproduct from refining crude
 
I saw it around $4.06 this morning which is a little better. I haven't paid too much attention to propane over the last week or two, but the last time I looked it was only a dollar or two higher than before the holidays. However, I was looking at Publix where everything is stupid expensive.

I had to stop every 40 minutes to rehydrate. It was 102-103 in Petersburg, 104 in Richmond. It was so hot, opening the face shield on my helmet was like turning on a blow dryer. Despite this, i was making good time. Until I hit Woodbridge, VA on I95. Parking lot. I dove for US1, same thing. after 10 minutes I had to put in for a/c and water at a local bank. You should try 301 or 15 to get around that part of 95. I've avoid 95 as much as I possibly can and have saved time, gas and hair!
 
Yeah I'm up north this weekend
Gas is pushing $5 I paid I $4.59 two days later $4.79
Hard to believe a couple months ago I was paying over $2 less
What a mess

Of course, this is some vacant road south of the border, not TX130 with its 85mph limit.

You get out in the hinterlands and we have 2 lane roads signed 80mph. I definitely do not miss the DMV traffic.
 
Boat gas here at our marina in Florida is "only" $5.09 gal. I would have expected it to be more expensive ( I rarely filll up at the marina). Diesel is like $5.90. This can't last......
 
The stations up here all sell ethanol free gas for the outboards
Diesel is over $6
Just to drive up here and home cost me an extra $60
Oh and exon mobile scored record profits
Guess we know who's cashing in
