That's fair. I certainly don't think a good kolsch would have 100% Vienna, but it could have a decent amount

Care to site your sources on that? BJCP 2021 includes Vienna malt in the list of characteristic kolsch ingredients

I don't see why you couldn't use Vienna. I've seen all sorts of beer lore on that particular style...

Amen was listening to podcast the other day on bjcp what I got out of its a style guideline put together to help in judging beer.

Sorta to me like a common language and reference point for judging beer...

Yep, looks like a kolsch! Some brewers add a 15 or 10 minute noble hop addition, but it's definitely not necessary for a good kolsch
