I visited a brewery today!

Georgia stepping up their game, nice!
Was the beer any good?
The last time I was up that way, they didn't have anything on the islands. It would have been nice to have a decent brewery on St Simons or Jekyll.
come up and visit! we have shit beer laws but the beer is still wet!

I used to like to stop somewhere on my way up to Asheville. This year I am going to see bigger mountains, so I won't be going that way.

What did you think of white labs? I tried a flight of four, of two different beers brewed with different yeasts. I had hard time telling the difference.
Sorry, looks like I missed this one. I don't remember what I had but vaguely recall noting something about the beer. Maybe you have it, only slight differences in the different beers. The place was pretty cool.

While visiting my stepdaughter and her fiancé we got to go to Astoria/seaside Oregon. In addition to seeing the house from the movie “The goonies” we stopped at these two breweries.

Sunday afternoon I stopped at Charlotteville Brewing, but just went into the store to grab an 8 pack.
I have posted about this brewery before, I just love this place.
The smaller barn is the bar room, the larger barn is the kitchen, brewery and store.
They purchased these century barns, dismantled them, then rebuilt them built them on this property.
They have a number of pictures up in the bar of the building process, pretty cool.
See below for the brews I bought.
The 519 Pale Ale is one I will be brewing soon.
The Oatmeal stout is very nice
The Saison is so, so, so very good, I must brew one one day

I thought of Josh this week. I went to a German place that only has about 4 beers, but they are outstanding. I also went to a place that does nothing but Czech beers poured the right way. Not many beers on tap, but VERY good. They make very good lagers in this town.

I'm probably staying in the hotel bar tonight. I fly out tomorrow. I was over 9300 feet for a bit today, and it kind of kicked my ass. For a longer period of time than the Pikes Peak train, that might be about my limit right now. The lady at the info center warned me, and I'm glad I didn't go too far on the trails.

Altitude is no joke!

This got me confused for a second.
I'm assuming this is a town name and not my country of birth ;)
Yes, Nederland is a small town in the mountains above Denver/Boulder very cute little town on the inter-mountain scenic highway

Terry, this is a beautiful area with a number of very nice people. I'm glad I caught the weather the way it was as I could not handle winter. Summer in Florida can be miserable, but I can handle it. I hate being cold.
