In my part of the country bx is not allowed for residential applications.

That's odd, I wonder what the thought process is with that?
It's better than Romex.

I could see it not being required (it isn't here either) but to not allow it surprises me. I like not having to worry about potential power lines hiding right behind walls when drilling or cutting into them.

Flooring today. Hopefully most of it.

Easy: 1/4" drywall. Or thin plywood.

Nope, 1/2" but with relief cuts, but thin drywall would work as well.
A less extreme curve can be done just by wetting the drywall on both sides and slowly working it onto the curve.

We did about 1000 SQ .ft today in 7 hours
