I thought that title would get a laugh!

I always do brew in a bag in a 10-gallon Blichman. The last time I brewed about two months ago I remember washing out my bag with the garden hose after I had dumped all of the grain and then I always hang it up to dry on a couple of hooks near the area where I brew.

Well I got set up today to get ready to brew tomorrow and I can't find that bag anywhere. It makes no sense as it's just me and the wife at home so no kids moving things. The wife hasn't seen it. In the last two months I haven't run across it in a weird place. And that bag was pretty new so I know I didn't tear it. Otherwise I would have made a note to myself that I need to replace it.

Is there any way to do a single vessel all grain brewing without a bag? My nearest brewing store is an hour away and not open until Monday. I do not have a false bottom in my Blichman.

My first thought based on the title was a possible burn situation brewing commando :)

Paint strainer bag from Home Depot or Ace
I've used them in a 5 gallon a ten you will need a couple

If you have a sewing machine you can make one from cheesecloth or an old sheer curtain
Of course you can mash no bag if you have a false bottom or drain thru a strainer
You will need two vessels
Brew day must go on

You could, but you would need to filter it somehow. Go to the grocery store and get a big pot strainer. When done mashing, start scooping it out

That^^^
I used paint strainer bags for grain a lot before I moved to a 15 gallon mash tun. They work very well. Still use the 1-gallon ones for hop bags in the boil.
