espresso machine

Ah, coffee - my other vice.
We have a Jura machine that grinds the Dunkin’ whole beans and turns it into coffee - the Wife’s fave. I use Aldi German ground (half dark, half medium, mixed - $7 a half-kilo) for my mornings, but would take Jakobs Kronung any day, if it wasn’t almost twice the price. If U’m lazy or morning-befuddled, the one-button Dunkin is perfectly fine too,
call back when your serious

I have a local roaster that I paired up with on a beer that was always a hit at the shop (Nut about Beans) that was Peanut Butter, Chocolate and cold steeped coffee Kolsch.
He gets single sorced organic beans from different origins and I have him do a light roast on them for me.
He roasts every Monday and I get them on Tuesday.
Burr grind pretty fine per cup in a drip maker with RO water. Wow!
Smooth as silk, awesome fruity and cocoa notes with a high caffeine kick.
That's my daily "Joe"
Cheers
Brian

I tried RO water but prefer a little minerals
Not a lot, but my water is very soft anyway
I've also experimented with different treated water that I happen to be brewing with

dunkin coffee is not terrible for readily available coffee. my complaint is that it has gone up drastically in price. I get the members mark version for way way less and its very likely the same coffee as the normal dunkin donuts.

i like that aldis coffee. im not really a dark roast person, but a lot of the aldis coffees are pretty good especially for the money.

I confess... I have an espresso machine.

I like my coffee dark, like my soul. So dark, when you open the bag of coffee beans, all the visible light should be sucked out of the room, each coffee bean being like a tiny black hole.

In my defense, I used several hundred $$$ of amazon gift cards, so it only cost me $44.00. I don't really have a preferred roaster, my wife usually keeps me supplied.

I mix their German dark and medium roast together, not as dark as dark, but darker than medium.

Dunkin is fine, and as you noted, getting costly. When Publix has their Bogo, we buy a bunch. So far, so good.

And yeah, the machine makes espressos, cappuchinos, and more.

that's not exactly how it works
dark roast has that burnt taste and mixing it with a medium roast, which is where the nuanced flavors are, just muddles the cup. If you buy a coffee that's a medium dark roast you don't get that astringency thus a cleaner cup
When my wife worked she got the Duncan at BJs, we drank that for years
Now I rotate single source bags so we are never drinking the same thing because they all taste different Ethiopean and African coffee has a different flavor than Indonesian and Central and South American. I have a coffee subscription and get 2 bags a month always something different .
Often limited releases. I rarely drink blends. I get board with the same flavor. Same with beer always brewing new stuff, experimenting. Home brewing has really enlightened me to all the different flavors of beer. Before I started home brewing would always get the same kind of beer

I like my coffee the way I like my... wait, family programming here...
I brew and drink 8 cups of coffee every day, half French Roast, and half decaf espresso from Starbucks. By the way Starbucks coffee in the US is kind of like Bud Light compared to Canadian Starbucks, at least it use to be that I recall from past disappointments.
Anyway, black no sugar, I don't decorate my coffee like it is a Christmas Tree
