    Show us your Homebrew!

My husband thoroughly enjoying "My Pale Friend" which after primary fermentation, didn't taste like much. A bit of honey and some dry hopping in the secondary and WOW. The character of this juicy pale exploded into epic action movie status.

So hard to pick bottles for competition!

One of these 12oz bottles will go to the Oregon Homebrew Competition....but which....ones...... ;D I'm super excited. This is EXPat. It was supposed to be a brown, but I cranked up the ABV and it became a great strong ale. https://imgur.com/a/JRUKB

Opinion on this Bluetooth Thermometer please.

Temperature range 32°F - 572°F Bluetooth range is a non issue for me as I use a transmitter in the apartment to send bluetooth signals on to the internet system. The transmitter reaches all parts of the apartment all the way down to the garage.

Opinion on this Bluetooth Thermometer please.

I'm sick of my junkie thermometer. I've gotten burned fingertips enough. So I am thinking of purchasing this: https://www.amazon.com/Tenergy-Thermometer-Controlled-Bluetooth-Stainless/dp/B077821Z4C/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 I've seen a few conversations about bluetooth thermometers...

    Hoegaarden clone

I have never had Hoegaarden, but this is the third time in as many days I've come across it. Must be a sign. I'm going to try it. If I like it, I'll be trying to make it!

    British Brown for comment

Ah, 15 minutes is great! Tones it down a bit but still within style, thanks!

    British Brown for comment

The total IBUs is 23.71 on the recipe engine: https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/624304/brownie-exp I've used a lot of biscuit lately, I think I'll leave that alone for awhile, but I will definitely see if Amber makes it easier to get a better SRM.

Bunch of Random Hops IPA Recipe Help

I would definitely keep that Citra for DH only! :D It is a beautiful hop just for that.

    British Brown for comment

I've done browns, but only kits. We like malt forward browns without a "roasty" character. I've gone off of the 2015 BJCP 13B requirements although I don't think I'll be submitting this to a contest. I just want to find a good consistent extract recipe for this year. 5 gallons 7lb Light LME...

    Spent Grains are Hamster safe!

I made a chewy bar for my guinea pig from spent biscuit grains made into flour, carrot, and apple. I moistened the mix and molded it into a little log before drying it. He was enchanted and hid it from me LOL. :D

    Hi from Corvallis, Oregon

Living near the city with the most breweries per capita is hard. Cause I don't have a car to get to Portland LOL! And the cost of a six pack keeps rising with every year. I found it cheaper to just do it myself. Currently I am an extract/partial mash brewer. I don't really have the space to go...

TIP for using Frozen Concentrated Juice as fermentable

Using Frozen Concentrate is becoming popular in my circles recently. I had a bit of trouble trying to figure out how to put the concentrated juice into the recipe builder. I decided ultimately to just list it as cane sugar aka sucrose, because ultimately on the can, what is listed IS sucrose. I...

    Corvallis Oregon

Hello there from the home of Flat Tail Brewing and Block 15 as well as at least 5 to 7 other excellent craft breweries! I'm an extract brewer, and I found the calculator here was good for me :D I have a penchant for experimentation though I would not classify myself as "expert" in any sense.
