So I'm on my 6th iteration of trying to nail down a solid recipe for this beer. I'm wondering if Pilsner would be that much different from 2-row. The Pilsner would be Best Maltz and the 2-row would be great western. There is only a $5 difference for the 50 lb sack (Pilsner $60 and 2-row $55), so price isn't really a problem.

Thoughts?

I'd go with the Pilsner. The flavors you're adding over it are the Victory and Aromatic malt, the hops and the yeast character. May not make much of a difference, even a detectable difference, it's just truer to form.

I'll be doing about 5 batches of beer with the bag of malt. 2 of them will be light (Tripel and Saison) and the other 3 will be dark (RIS, BDSA, Barleywine). All of them will be high ABV.
