Notes
A Biere De Garde with a Kiwi twist, using New Zealand Gladfield malts, and the NZ aroma hop Wakatu alongside the French Aramis hop. Intended to result in a more hop forward ale than conventional Biere De Garde guidelines. Fermented with [3 PACKETS OF] Saflager 34/70 yeast in the tradition of French Biere's De Garde which were often brewed "as ales" but using lager yeast, pushing 34/70 to the higher end of its very wide 9ºc to 22ºc limits.
USE 3 PACKETS OF SAFLAGER 34/70 FOR THIS VOLUME
P.S. I have used kettle volume for batch size, because I use a Grainfather, which leaves about 1.5lts at the bottom of the kettle, and BF assumes kettle and fermenter volume are the same, which for me they are not.
