I have just completed a brew day using the following recipe, utilizing the BIAB method:
https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/1528312/bonham-buckley-s-irish-red
I began with 3.75 gal of water for mashing the 4lb 6.1oz of grain and after removing and squeezing grain bag,
I ended up with 3.5 gal of wort. The SG at this point was recorded as 1.032 (expected)
After the boil, the volume was 2.5 gal with an SG reading of 1.050 (1.046 expected). I added the calculated amount of water
to reach my OG of 1.046 prior to pitching the yeast, ending up with 2.72 gal, which is what is now fermenting.
I'm wanting to enter the correct numbers so I may more easily develop and brew recipes. If you have the ability to view my brew log, please let me know.
Pay no attention to anything past "Brew Day Complete"
Thanks,
Todd
