What are you listening to now

On one of the recent Brülosophy podcasts, Martin Keen mentioned using an AI music generator from Udio to make a few songs. He writes the lyrics, and AI composes the music based on genre. If you haven't caught his example, I was surprised at what he created. I thought it was pretty good! For grins, I created this song today. I know some of you guys are talented musicians and might benefit from a music created on your own lyrics. Give it a shot! Udio is free with of course limitations for the free version.

Awhile back, I started playing some of the really old Genesis albums on Spotify at work. Tonight, I decided to play the first one ( 1969) in the headphones. Groovy shit:)
Old, Peter Gabriel Genesis is very cool.

My first concert, also while in high school, was Jethro Tull; either the Songs From The Wood or Heavy Horses tour. We were up against the cement wall behind the band so, absolutely terrible seats. But is was still the best concert I've ever been to. Intellectually I knew real people made the music I listened to and that bands toured. But the reality of having them physically in front of me, playing my favorite songs, blew my mind!

My first concert was a very LOUD one. KISS, on their Rock 'n Roll Over tour, well after the KISS LIVE album. A buddy of mine won the tickets from a local radio station and didn't want to go alone but his GF HATED KISS. So he gave me one of the tickets and a ride to the show. Cost me bugger all. He got stoned during the show, so I became the DD for the ride home. The light show was nearly as bright and loud as the concert. We drove head-first into a monster thunderstorm within minutes after passing through Bessemer and had horrible weather for the remainder of the ride until we got back to the UA campus. The lightning was all cloud to ground and there were treetops exploding on either side of the interstate between Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. Rain drops were the size of golf balls, but fortunately, no hail. I somehow didn't mind it, because it was my first and last ever chance to drive a 73 Mustang Mach I fastback with a 351 in it. To think that car was only 4 years old at the time is kinda mind boggling. A very memorable night, despite being nearly 50 years ago.

AC/DC was the first concert I went to because I wanted to. My first concert was something totally different. We would stay with dad in Cincy for a week in the summer and over the holidays. Kings island was always in the agenda. 1988 my older sister got her pick since a “band” was performing at kings island. Take a guess…..It’s embarrassing to say it was my first concert.

According to Google, it could have been the Oak Ridge Boys.
It looks like they had some pretty damn good bands in the 80s at that place.

I remember seeing both Rick Springfield and Quarterflash at Disney in the 80s. They used to have full concerts at night instead of the 20 minute Food and Wine sets.
When spring break was really big in the 80s, I remember being on the beach in Daytona and watching Missing Persons play on the Plaza Hotel pool deck.
Dale Bozzio was a hottie back then.

My first concert was Emerson Lake and Palmer on the Works tour, at Madison Square Garden with the full orchestra. What. A. Show.

Keith Emerson still playing the keyboard, laying on his back with the ‘piano’* on top of him… backwards. As in, playing from behind the keyboard. Who plays from the far side of the keyboard??

*well, a big beat-up box with his Moog keyboards in (on?) it.

I saw a video of him sticking a knife in the keyboard to hold the keys down while still playing too. I want to say it was the Dave Brubeck remake. Dude loved his craft so much that he could not live after his hands failed him. Live Trilogy or Tarkus I bet was unreal.
