What are you listening to now

A little more of an A/V thing but if you can....strong recommendation for the HBO doc on Billy Joel. Long....and (not but) REALLY Good!

The guys song book passed two generations!

I've never had much luck. What's your process
My process:

Get two panes of glass or smooth tile, larger than the record. Preheat them to about 150 F, in any case don’t exceed 175F. Using oven mitts, place one glass pane/tile on a heatproof surface, put the cleaned bare record on it, place the other atop it.

Let it sit to cool with something about 5 pounds atop it. For a few days minimum, a week is better. You can move it to a more convenient place once it cools, about a half hour.

That will remove some warp. Repeat as needed.

Note that the center of the record is thicker than the grooved part, so not all warp can be removed, but it can get to playable easily enough.

Also, be careful to not slide the glass or tiles across the record! Also, you can use a hair dryer to heat things up instead of the oven.

The Google knows other ways, but generally you flatten it with pressure and time, maybe a little warmth.

I've done something similar with a hair dryer and weight.

Just checked "radar love" and they were all so young ;)
Not sure if this came out in the states, but it was a hit in their native country with George Kooymans doing the vocals

Radar love was a huge hit, in Canada for sure, I have to imagine it was in the US too.
I have very clear memories of loving it when it came out, listening to 680 CFTR! 680 is still an operating AM station, it is now a 24 news station.

Can you imagine how big a hit it was in their home country.
When George Kooymans got too sick to perform, the other members of the band decided they would not go on without him...
End of golden earring.

In 2021, once known, George couldn't perform anymore,, radar love was played from carrillions and churches

I confess that I didn't know that they were a Dutch band!

I certainly had no clue. But the frontman’s name is a bit obvious.

Trying to remember when I first heard Radar Love. Must’ve been the late 70’s while I was deciding to be an engineer instead of a lawyer or doctor. Can’t say regret my choice though.
