Had a pint of Racer 5 IPA for the first time last night at a movie theater. Very impressed.

Here is the clone recipe I found:

This forum has some variations on it, and I picked what appeared to be the best rendition. A lot of people LOVE Racer 5 IPA!

I have some Zeus (which is close if not the same to Columbus) and some Cascade grown at my house. This is a perfect reason to use up these hops! I've noticed American Ale II gives a creamy vanilla like flavor. I noticed some sweetness in the Racer 5 IPA. I figured it was Belgian candy sugar, but that yeast and the use of Caramel Pils makes perfect sense.

PS - movie theaters with micro brews on tap are pretty cool. :p

Yeah, we've got a theater that serves beer here in Columbia Mo. I'm thinking about springing for one of those 64 oz Hydro Flask insulated growlers - then every theater in town serves homebrew. You're right about Columbus and Zeus, along with Tomahawk. I haven't tried the racer beer - sounds pretty good. Have you seen the SN Northern Hemisphere Harvest wet hop? Good shizznit.
